Tango’s Violin is a stage show written in 2005 by Sophie Kesoglidis.

The promotional poster (below) launched the premiere that year at The Famous Spiegeltent (Melbourne).

The show has since been performed at major venues including City Recital Hall (Sydney), Clocktower Centre (Melbourne) and His Majesty’s Theatre (Perth).

The backdrop (above), which measures 11m (w) × 6m (h), was commissioned in 2009. The image combines the classic tango dance hall with fantasy, by the prominent use of the colour orange. It was created in nine panels and painted in acrylic on Tyvek.
